The packaging is beautiful, soft touch all around, 2 LP each in a unique sleeve that has stills from the film, the center label of each album is a different still as well, just beautiful. Sound quality is top notch vinyl, if you enjoy the vinyl experience there is much to relish in here, I hope the 'Braveheart' LP release is done with this much /5().

The Gladiators get serious on this set, their second for Nighthawk. Their previous album for the label, Symbol of Reality, was a bit more adventurous and actually found the group dipping their toes tentatively into downtetuhymisu.harwingsimpricktogoldcapoforjoeprudlet.cor, the group apparently found those waters too cold for comfort and now return with a solid roots record.8/

A wonderful soundtrack probably Hans Zimmer best. I already have the now extremely expensive ORG issue (2 copies) which had a dreadful noisy pressing and there is much online comment about ORG mastering was nevertheless as good as it gets but unfortunately the noisy pressing was quite in fact conceded there was a problem and even sent me a couple of copies from USA /5().

The additional highlight of these sessions was watching Sylvan mixing top ranking dub tracks of the Gladiators best riddims. Serious Thing includes a generous portion of these superb dubs. —Leroy Jodie Pierson From the liner notes to Serious Thing Albert Griffiths founded the Gladiators in after some success on his own.5/5(3).

Serious Thing may confront serious issues, but the Gladiators occasionally liven up the mood, as on "After You," where the brass section sassily reels out an old '50s melody overhead. Even though the arrangements are all firmly roots based, there's a lovely lilting quality to the whole set and, in places, an almost rural mood.5/5(4).

After ’s Symbol Of Reality, their first for the Nighthawk Records label, the Gladiators added more cultural commentary in their song choices for ’s follow up, Serious Thing. Topical songs dominate the album from the title track, “Serious Thing” to “Freedom Train” and “My Thoughts.”5/5(3).
